Deon is a strong believer and practitioner of Positive Psychology. Her workshops and coaching focus on enabling leaders to understand their talents and potential, and how to leverage their strengths to lead their team and apply into their day to day business practice.
Deon was recognised as the “Best CEO of the Year” in 2020 by APAC Entrepreneur magazine, where she shared how she leveraged human-centric growth strategies to help transform businesses.

Why do you choose to do what you do?
Helping people build confidence and clarity through self discovery, seeing them grow and thrive in their personal and professional life gives me the motivation to do what I do every day.
What were the challenges you faced when starting out in your field?
I took a break from my career when I had my daughter. Transitioning to be a full-time mother was difficult. However, those years have helped me shape my character with stronger mental resiliency and agility. Nevertheless, re-entering the workforce in a new field was very challenging. People do not blend your two life experiences together. They want to put you in a box but I did not fit into any of these boxes.
What challenges you continue to face right now as a woman in your field?
I think the efforts for supporting each other and actively reaching out to each other for mentorship and giving other women opportunities and platform to shine and lead are very fragmented. The challenge is that many women are in the sandwich generation which have a lot of competing priorities. I hope we will have channels to lift each other up mentally, physically and spiritually.
What is the ONE thing you would like to share with women in your field or women in general?
Believe in your own ability, don’t listen to the naysayers. Look inward to find your own strength and find the courage to let your voice be heard. Surround yourself with people who are kind, curious and live life with intention and purpose.
