On the 31stof December, at the stroke of midnight, we gear up for the New Year to party with family and friend. As we watch the aerial burst of dazzling fireworks we forwardly look to the New Year in anticipation and the promise of what is to come.
On another note, new slates of beginnings are gifted to us to start afresh. A typical new year resolution, often brings about unrealistic ideals, a gargantuan list of do’s and don't’s which are usually uphill tasks to follow through. Many of us fail so miserably within a short span of time, often feeling demoralized far quickly.
Here at Oatberry.com, as we sing Auld Lang Syne, we let go of the old and embark on the journey to 2019 with a brand new perspective. We extend the cup of kindness, first to ourselves, lest we forget that we need it more than anyone else.
We have also come up with 3 simple recipes, with important doses of ingredients that will bring forth a fruitious year.
1st Recipe - Body
Health is the first of all Liberties – Henri Frederic Amiel
Key ingredients: A regular comprehensive health evaluation. Have a mindful eating habit and be selective, know the right kind of food needed to support your diet and lifestyle. Plan ahead of time so you don't cheat too often, for meetings, dining out and home meal preps. Next on the agenda will be, getting the right amount of exercise. You don’t have to join fitness bandwagon and be an Instagram Influencer straight away. Instead take small steps like do brisk walking around your neighbourhood after dinner twice a week which goes a long way. Well, for some of you who already been running a couple of miles a day and that’s excellent, keep it up.
2nd Recipe - Soul
What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul – Jesus
What do we feed our soul? This is a deciding question that brings forth the sustenance for the rest of our lives. The true essence of a well nourished heart bears love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We live in a fragile world, and it takes forgiveness and wisdom to bring us closer to our divine purpose on Earth. Setting sail on a spiritual journey might be just the right thing for 2019, to save your sanity.
3rd Recipe - Mind
The mind is a filter which permits passage only to those messages for which it is prepared unless reality is so pressing as to overwhelm it completely. – J A C Brown
A quote that is at the heart of a truth, that surrounds what we see and perceive daily. The inevitable amount of information that needs to be filtered into our minds. We have a choice of what we allow into our lives. Preservation through what we read, watch and relationships that we allow, for that matter the amount of time we allocate to nurture every aspect of our lives.
Here is a toast to an Oatberrily New 2019, wishing everyone a blessed year ahead.
