Having said that, it is the best time to visit Chinatown to soak into the festivity of gaiety - decorated lanes, with red lanterns and the variety of delicacies that would surmount the tables of every Reunion gathering on the Eve of CNY. This annual tradition observed worldwide by most Chinese. Particularly, it is time to create some simple, honest to goodness recipes with our own unique ingredients. Here are our three recipes with the best of both worlds.
Granola Party Trail Mix - Original Granola coconut, organic cold pressed coconut oil, organic maple syrup, and sea salt. This party mix would be the next treat to be passed to the next generation.
Lightly toast 300 grams of almond slices, cool them on a tray. Add 350 grams of original granolas, 100 grams of goji berries to the toasted almond slices. Mix well and place them in an airtight glass container.
Mango Coconut Smoothie – Maple Pecan Granola - Traditional Rolled oats, almonds, pecan, organic cold pressed coconut oil, organic cocoa sugar, sunflower seeds, desiccated coconut, organic maple syrup, demerara sugar, sea salt. The crunchy and fruity dessert will delight anyone from the age of 3 years and above.
Blend one cup of coconut milk/cream with one ripe mango and a spoonful of chia seeds or basil seeds. Pour them over 50gms of granola mix. Top them up with sprinkles of pomelo.
Red Dates Dried Longan – Double Chocolate Granola - Traditional rolled oats, coconut, cocoa, and sea salt. Red dates are auspicious and a must for every Chinese celebration. The slight bitterness of the chocolate blends out well with the sweetness of the red dates, a gourmet decadent mix!
Mix 300 grams of Red dates pitted and sliced with 300 grams of dried longan flesh which is readily available at the dried section of any grocery store and 150 grams of granola.
